On the Mend

Haven't been too active on the blog lately. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a partial mastectomy on one side and a lumpectomy on the other on Thursday. It was performed as outpatient surgery so I came home Thursday afternoon. Karrie stayed with me until last evening. She did laundry, shopped and cooked for me; I could get spoiled. I have very little pain and have been off the heavy duty meds since Friday.
I plan on going to The Center this afternoon to see the guys and girls and maybe go out for pizza with the group. I am not displaying or selling anything this year even though I started carving Christmas ornaments, but haven't been very productive. Now that the surgery is over, I plan to concentrate on ornaments. I see the surgeon on the Monday after Thanksgiving to find out what kind of treatment is in store. I'm pretty sure I will be having radiation, but don't know about chemo.
Last Tuesday our Cut and Sew group met to make quilts. We are making twin size so we can donate to either a homeless or women's shelter. I took some pictures of the ladies working but haven't uploaded them yet.I will try to post this week.

Audrey, I am so sorry to hear that you are dealing with breast cancer!! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My mom had breast cancer in 1985, had a mastectomy and was perfectly fine for the rest of her life which was another 24 years!!! ((Healing Hugs) to you!!!
