Consecration Sunday
Today is Consecration Sunday when the congregation pledges to donate a certain amount of money for the next year. It is not mandatory so everyone does not pledge. After the late service today, we had a catered turkey dinner buffet. It was an ok dinner, not as good as our Ladies Aid Turkey Dinner. Ladies Aid chose not to have their turkey dinner this year because of the lack of young volunteers. One couple headed up the cooking and they just felt that they needed more young people to volunteer. A few of us older members have volunteered to peel potatoes, cut up vegetables and the bread for the stuffing, but there is so much more to be done.

You know Audrey, the young ones don't know what they are missing..working in the church kitchen...some of my fondest memories of church life was with those ladies....and I was in my 20's
You are right on, but many of the young ones work outside the home and are not avilable.
