It is a very sad day today. The house of a young couple from church burned down today. She was in Church with the three little ones and he was at home. The fire started with a space heater and spread rapidly. The dad managed to get out with their two dogs. The house is completely destroyed, but they do have insurance. They will be staying with the husbands folks who are also members. The dad, an electrician has been out of work for over a year. We got together this morning and set up groups of people to go shopping for the kids underwear and socks, toiletries and diapers, dog food and to replace some of the toys that the little girls got for Christmas. Some people ran home and packed up clothes for the girls. Pastor did not do the late service so he could be with the family. Santos, a man of our congregation filled in for him and did a fine job. Instead of a sermon we sang Christmas hymns.
We also have a woman coming home from the hospital after fracturing her leg. Her husband and son are invalids. So there is a call out to supply some meals for them.
If one thinks that their life is bad, just look around and there are people who are suffering 10+ fold. Please pray for these families.
