Wednesday

Back to the dentist today. One of the teeth that is holding a bridge is fractured down to the root. Today he will be taking the bridge apart and then the oral surgeon will look at it. The tooth needs to go, and I want an implant put in its place. Hope I can get this all done quickly.

Sunday

Just back from a fund raiser for a young man who has been  married a only a few months and was diagnosed with cancer. He has no insurance. It was at This must be the Place in Lemont. They had tons of stuff for silent auction and also a bunch of stuff where you threw your ticket in a bag and then they pull a name at the end of the fund raiser. They also had split the pot which will be called later.

Dentist

Today its a visit to the dentist. It is not one of my favorite pastimes. I have been going twice a year for many years now and have managed to have no cavities, of course I have a few artificial teeth in my mouth that wouldn't get cavities.
Today I will also go to Hobby Lobby to check on materials needed for our Advent project. We will be building a church with 2x2x2" kraft colored boxes, one for each day of Advent. Yesterday I ordered 1800 boxes.

Autumn

If this is Fall, I'll take all I can get. Sunshine and in the low 80's and no humidity.  Not much else happening... just enjoy the day!

Organ Concert

Our music director Jason had his organ concert yesterday in our Church. They had a camera  focused on the keyboard and foot pedals. That was quite interesting. His feet moved so quickly on the pedals. I asked him if he can dance and his reply was no; I told him he would do a great quick step on Dancing with the Stars. My sister Lee went with me and after we had cookies and punch in the Church basement, then we went to dinner. The first restaurant [Seamus McGee] we tried was closed. So we wound up at a new Capri restaurant in Woodridge. It seems that Capri is popping up all over, Palos, Oakbrook, Downers Grove, Burr Ridge and now this new one in Woodridge. They say its all the same family.

Saturday/Sunday

Yesterday I went to the Lemont Art and Culture Commission's outdoor art show. Wow, so windy and cold; I felt sorry for the folks trying to sell anything. Also stopped in to the gallery to pick up my carvings and found I won a raffle prize - two lawn chairs in a bag. In the afternoon I went to the Lemont Nursing Home to spread Sonshine and help the residents play bingo. The poor soul I helped couldn't see very well so I had to point out the number on her card.  We had a drawing for two crocheted lap robes made by LWML ladies. While I was at the nursing home, I visited my friend Dan who is there for a couple of weeks of rehab. He had back surgery last week. He seems to be doing pretty good so far, his house has a step or two going from room to room so he has to have good mobility.

Speaking of LWML, today is LWML Sunday so we serve the "and" for the coffee and. We also perform a skit. I think we are getting to be better and better actresses. It was fun and our audience seemed to enjoy. And then I sang with the Praise Team at the late service. This afternoon is an organ concert put on by our music director, Jason.

Fall

Another beautiful Fall day. Unfortunately it will be chillier tomorrow. Tomorrow is the Music and Art Fest in uptown (127th & State) area of Lemont. Hope it doesn't rain, if so they will move into the old Blockbusters store.
Tomorrow a few folks from our Church will be spreading Sonshine at the Lemont Nursing home by helping them with bingo. We  have two more lap robes to give away.
