Tree Spirit

Just finished a fun carving of cottonwood tree bark. This was a practice piece for a bigger carving I plan to do. Ryan who walks in the woods looking for deer, found some pretty big pieces of bark. I have started on Christmas ornaments and am also working on the wolf's head.

Tomorrow is an LWML rally at Trinity Church in Burr Ridge. We will be tying blankets; I don't know where they will go, but I'm sure it is for a good cause. Tomorrow is also the Lemont Street Fair on Lemont Street. They will have vendors, antiques, food and music, all for the benefit of the Lemont Historical Society.

This is really a cool carving!!! Makes me think of Michealangelo (at least I think it was him) when he said that he doesn't carve the figure out of stone, he just releases what was already in there!! You have released the spirit in the wood!
